Mutant squelches from a far flung future rip apart and recombine your signal into an avalanche of screaming, stinging notes. Mean Ripper takes your signal and sculpts it with a square wave fuzz and synced oscillator - the combinations are both endless and horrible. Gated distortion. Noisy filtered fuzz. Accidental octave glitches. Abrupt starts and stops.

Controls:
Open: Attenuates your input signal for a variety of effects. Turning the knob all the way up allows for all of your signal to hit the fuzz engine which can sometimes result is drones and other horrible noises. As you turn the control down, less and less signal makes it in, resulting in glitches and extreme gating depending on how you have the Freak control set.
Freak: This controls an internal oscillator that is turned on and off by your guitar signal. It's an extremely wide ranging control allowing for all kinds of noises - death whistles, extreme cocked wah, glitchy octaves. Low settings will limit the notes that can be reproduced - cutting off higher (and even some pretty low) notes completely while destroying what's left. Medium-to-higher settings result in filtered goodness, wild textures, and whistles. All the way up disables the oscillator for a muscular fuzz until you start to turn Open down to get your octave glitch chaos.
Loud: This makes it go loud.

Background:
I was playing around with a CMOS hex inverter for making fuzz and noise when I got kind of annoyed at leaving some of the inverters unused. I've always liked horrible noises and thought knew that there was a simple oscillator I could make with two gates. It was free-running and horrible. Then I remembered the old John Hollis Crash Sync circuit. I set up my design to do this in its own way and loved it, but it would make horrible noises when I wasn't playing if I had other gain before it. So I whipped up a simple MOSFET buffer and popped it on the front end with an attenuator. So many new textures exploded. It is one mean ripper.
